The Turning of a Page

“You pile up enough tomorrows, and you’ll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays.  I don’t know about you, but I’d like to make today worth remembering.”
-The Music Man 1962

Life is an ever changing story.  Sometimes it crawls onward.  Sentence by sentence, the next chapter ever eluding you.  Other times the story sails away faster than you could have ever imagined.

More often than not, turning a page in your life story can be frightening.  Once you’ve crossed the line, jumped the cliff, or taken the plunge, there is no going back.  But it’s an exciting process and you can’t dwell on one page forever.

Let this be an encouragement to fill your yesterdays with joyful memories.  Don’t live in the past, even when the road curves in directions you didn’t expect, trust that God paved the road, and if you are following HIM, you don’t have to be scared to move forward.  Let God be your guide.

Life is fast and life is slow.  It’s sorrowful and it’s sweet.  It’s learning something new everyday and taking advantage of every moment you’ve been blessed with the ability to breath.  Life is words continuously being printed on a page…  But if you constantly push plans and opportunities to tomorrow, what is left but a lot of empty yesterdays?

It’s not perfect.  Life is messy.  Life produces tears.  Life hurts sometimes.  Life is learning to not dwell on the chapters of sorrow.  Reading a book is best when you keep reading it, don’t stop reading when the plot becomes intimidating.

Make today worth remembering.
