I’ve realized that God tends to combine the most unlikely ingredients for a delightful yet unexpected outcome. This years trip to Nassau was no different. I could never have predicted the team members, music camp attendees, or opportunities that Christ supplied for this trip. Now, looking back, everything blended perfectly.
We all have a purpose from Christ. He calls us. He provides for us. He protects us. Over the course of this trip, God revealed His creativity to me. Every little Bahamian smile. Every island sunset. The quiet walks across camp. My teammates and leaders who encouraged me and helped me grow. Our hosts at the Adventure Learning Camp and Kingdom Life Church. All brilliant creations of God.
Every opportunity set before me, from teaching piano lessons, to scrubbing toilets, and every little task in between taught me how to serve. I think Christ has one desire for my life that He is constantly re-teaching me. He wants me to be content in all circumstances. To give generously from whatever I have. To receive thankfully. To serve with a heart full of humility and a mind focused on Him. This is not by any means an easy thing to do, but, this way of life is a too easy to ‘turn off’. It’s all too simple to slip into normal and forget that which God has shown us in special circumstances.
Let’s change normal. Let’s live as one body. Let’s serve together. Whether it’s at home, at work, on an island in the Bahamas, or anywhere across the globe. It won’t be easy. I want to serve Christ in every aspect of my life.
