Stereo

Can I say once again how powerful music is?  Music is a language that speaks straight to the soul in the most creative and profound way possible in this sinful earth.  There is one band in particular that sings truth and raw emotion better than any other I know, Mike Mains & The Branches.  If you have talked to me for more than five minutes in the last eight months, you know I’m absolutely in love with their music.

I’ve now been blessed with the opportunity to meet the members of this band, twice, and consider them my dear friends.  Their ability to see this world in a unique way has spoken to my life, and many others.  They’ve encouraged me in my own passion for music and refreshed my heart to reach the goal of one day speaking to the lives of others with my music.

Here are lyrics from one of their songs, one of my favorites actually, enjoy them, and please; listen.
Stereo.  Mike Mains & The Branches.

Well, don’t be so rational
I’d rather die that than casually throw all my dreams away
Love’s not some ship you sail only when you’re feeling passionate
You’re in it, you’re in it
so get some courage, kid, and why don’t you grow up?

All I ever wanted to be was in your stereo
that kissed your ears in your sleep
But I’m no Romeo, in fact I think I barely know
Nothing about anything

But if we’ll take this past the edge and let go
I think we’ll find what we’re looking for
But if we’ll take this past the edge and let go
I think we’ll find what we’re looking for

I’ve got a dream catcher above my bed
So I can shake the demons out of my head and got some sleep
I think that’s what I need

And all I ever wanted to be was in your stereo
That kissed your ears in your sleep
But I’m no Romeo, in fact I think I barely know
Nothing about anything

But if we’ll take this past the edge and let go
I think we’ll find what we’re looking for
But if we’ll take this past the edge and let go
I think we’ll find what we’re looking for

I’ve got a crucifix above my bed
So I forget not to pray when I go to bed
But that can’t save me
No, that can’t save me
It’s not the wood that saves
It’s the Man who came and wore it
Oh, It’s not the cross that saves
It’s the Man who came and wore it
And he wore it well, he wore it well
Oh, and then He said…

And all I ever wanted to be was in your stereo
that kissed your ears in your sleep
But I’m no Romeo, in fact I think I barely know
Nothing about anything

But if we’ll take this past the edge and let go
I think we’ll find what we’re looking for
But if we’ll take this past the edge and let go
I think we’ll find what we’re looking for
